Stephen Washam Pritchett

Stephen Washam Pritchett, age 76, of Jackson, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017 at his home. He was born Jan. 22, 1941 in Gallipolis, Ohio to the late Kathleen (Washam) and Merrill Pritchett.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Freda “Fritzie” Pritchett; sons, Stephen W. Pritchett, Jr., of Jackson and David M. Pritchett, of Upper Arlington, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Cara, Taylor, Madison, John and Jake Pritchett, all of Upper Arlington, Ohio.

He was a graduate of Jackson High School and earned both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from The Ohio State University. He also was a lifetime farmer in Jackson County and was a 31-year government teacher in Upper Arlington Public Schools.

Friends may call Thursday, Feb. 2, 2017 at the Christ United Methodist Church, 150 Portsmouth St., Jackson, Ohio starting at 6 p.m. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 3, 2017 at the Christ United Methodist Church with Pastor Dave Roach and Rev. Janie Karl officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at a later date.
