Evelyn Louise Sams Ray “Betty”, age 79 of Londonderry, Ohio passed away Friday, February 3, 2017 at Adena Regional Hospital. She was born May 25, 1937 in Chillicothe, Ohio to the late Georgia Ann (Vandemark) and Everett Sams Sr. She was an active member of the Richmond Dale Church of God for over thirty years.
Surviving are her four daughters, Grace (Charles) Jordan, Gloria Ray, Rosanna Ray (Fiance Tim Montgomery), Christine (Jesse) Archey, all of Londonderry, Ohio and a stepson, Keith (Carol) Ray of Circleville, Ohio. Also surviving is her sister, Sharon Sams of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Earnest Ray, a sister Judy Rogers and two brothers, Ronald Sams and Everett Sams Jr.
Friends may call Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at the Richmond Dale Church of God, 345 Market St., Richmond Dale, Ohio starting at 11 am. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM at the church with Pastor Jamie Hitchcock officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Coalton, Ohio.
