Thomas Michael “Butch” Aldrich, age 69, of Jackson passed away Monday, May 23, 2022, at his home. He was born October 22, 1952, in Oak Hill, Ohio to the late Thomas R. and Elizabeth M. Claar Perry.
He and his wife, Sherry, attended the Christ United Methodist Church in Jackson and the Welsey Church on Cove Road. Butch was a retired police officer for the Jackson Police Department, having served for 33 ½ years. During his time of service, he also served as the Jackson City Schools resource officer, spent one term on Jackson City Council and also served as a bailiff for the Juvenile Courts. Throughout the years, he was he was involved and a supporter of many local programs and events, he was a member of the former Jaycees, now the JAFE, he was the organizer of the Jackson County Trout Festival and Jackson’s Shop with a Cop program. He loved camping, animals and going to the shooting range, but most importantly, he loved his family, especially his beloved daughter, “Jennifer.”
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Aldrich; daughter, Jennifer (Brian) Carr; brothers and sisters: Ronald Aldrich, Sandy Dempsey, Tom Perry Jr., Randy Perry, Twyla Perry; and one very special grand-baby on the way. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews and many close friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Jerry Aldrich and Jim “James” Aldrich; and sisters: Elaine Howell and Bambi Perry.
A celebration of Butch’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 31, 2022, at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Janie Karl officiating.
