Linda Lou (Cooper) Wallace

By | May 1, 2018

Linda Wallace was born Dec. 9, 1948, daughter of John and Easter Belle (Kuhn) Cooper in Oak Hill, Ohio where she resided for most of her life. She attended Jefferson Local Elementary and Oak Hill High School, graduating in 1966. She married her childhood sweetheart, Dennis Eugene Wallace on Dec. 16, 1967. This union was blessed with two sons who were the love of her life – Jason Scott and Jeffrey Allen. She was always a loving wife and mother.

Linda earned an Associate’s Degree in Accounting in 1989 from Rio Grande College and worked several years in accounting, but she is best known locally for the time she spent employed at the Oak Hill Library. Being naturally outgoing and friendly, she was well known and liked by everyone who knew her. For many years she was a member of the Old Country Church Tabernacle where she was not only married, but was also baptized, and had her sons christened.

In August of 2017, Linda was diagnosed with small cell carcinoma and immediately underwent intensive radiation and chemotherapy treatments. Her body lost the battle against the intrusive enemy on April 30, 2018 but won the war over death surrounded by her loving family, going peacefully to sleep and rest from her suffering, pain, and the troubles of this life; and spiritually crossing over into eternal victory and her reward with Christ.

She is survived by her sons: Jason (Jenny) Wallace and Jeff (Emily) Wallace; grandchildren: Elijah, Amelia, Anna, Leah, Oscar, and Melina; mother, Easter Cooper; sisters: Sherry Jenkins and Cathy Cooper Wood; nephew, Troy Wyant; great-niece, Abby Wyant; and a myriad of extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Wallace and her father, John Cooper.

“Her absence will create a void where memories of times shared with her will live forever in our hearts and we will be unexpectedly transported by a smell, a smile, a melody, a breeze….forever.”
