David E. Sharp, age 70, of Oak Hill, passed away Sunday, July 17, 2016 at his home. He was born December 10, 1945 in Oak Hill, to the late Bartlet and Edna (Brown) Sharp.
He was a logger all of his life. He was a United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War, a master logger and former owner and operator of Sharp Logging.
He was joined in marriage to Patricia (Molihan) Sharp, who survives, on November 23, 1966. They were blessed with six children, Diane (Dave) Bunnell, of Jackson, James (Kathy) Saunders, of Albany, Marsha Sharp, of Kansas City, Missouri, Jeannie Lewis, of Oak Hill, William (Sonia) Sharp, of Gallipolis and Cathy Swisher, of Oak Hill; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his very good friend and hunting buddy, Freddy Allen and a granddaughter, baby Sharp.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 21, 2016 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill with Pastor Cline Rawlins officiating. Burial will follow at a later date in Union Cemetery, in Oak Hill, at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Wednesday, July 20, 2016 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
