Geneva White-Fedo, 94, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at Suzanne’s Cottage, Charlotte Square assisted living facility. She was surrounded by the family and she will be greatly missed.
Services in celebration of Geneva’s life were to be held on Monday 7/27/15; 5:00 p.m. viewing, 6:00 p.m. service, McEwen-Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC with Reverend Tom Kakedel officiating. Interment was to be in the Magnolia Memorial Gardens in Charlotte.
Geneva was born April 29, 1921, in Jackson, OH, daughter of the late Minnie Pearl Nicolet and Noble White. She was one of three children growing up on Franklin Fruit Farm. She graduated from Jackson High School and graduated from Tri-State Business College, in Portsmouth, OH, in 1942. She enjoyed writing and was a newspaper reporter in Kettering, OH, and also wrote for The Granville Sentinel, Granville, OH as well as The Matthews News, Matthews, NC.
She was also a suburban housewife and mother of three girls and was involved in Girl Scouts for 11 years. Geneva was also an active member in the Ohio Association of Garden Clubs as a member of her local club and as a Regional Director for Region 8 in the late 70s. She also held programs on herbs and plants of the Bible.
Geneva is survived by her two brothers, Gerald White and Heber White (Beverly); her three children, Pat Yost (Rod), Newark, OH, Nancy Pemberton (Tom), Charlotte, NC, and Carol Weaver (Tony), Waxhaw, NC; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank all the caregivers and staff of Charlotte Square Assisted Living Center and Alzheimer Center for their special care while Geneva was a resident of the center. Words cannot express the family’s thanks for their time and energy ensuring that she was well taken care during her last stages of Alzheimer’s. The family’s sincere gratitude also goes out to Hospice of Charlotte for their loving care and support during the last year of her life.
