Robert N. Sprinkles, 83, of Wellston, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, July 30, 2015, at Medilodge of Monroe in Monroe, Michigan.
He was born in Wellston on June 1, 1932, to the late Charles R. Sprinkles and Ina Quick Sprinkles. He was a U.S. Army veteran during the Korean conflict. He served as a Wellston Police officer for five years. He worked as a car man for the DT&I Railroad from 1955 until his retirement on May 31, 1994.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Collins Sprinkles in 2005; a brother, Bill Sprinkles; two sisters, Eileen Brady and Garnet Dailey; a daughter-in-law, Wendy Sprinkles; two sons-in-law, Joe Revard and Ron Richileau; and two nephews, Jeffrey and Jerry Young.
He is survived by six children: two sons, Robert (Patrice) Sprinkles Jr. of Carleton, Michigan and William Leslie (Dawn) Sprinkles of Rockwood, Michigan; four daughters, Robin (Dennis) Penn of Carleton, Michigan; Denise Richileau of Monroe, Michigan; Debbie Sprinkles-Revard of Monroe, Michigan; and Wendy (Paul) Meyer of Carleton, Michigan; 13 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at the Jenkins Funeral Chapel in Wellston on Tuesday from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. Graveside services will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery in Wellston with Pastor Steve Mathews officiating. Military honor services will be by the American Legion Post #371 of Wellston. The family suggests memorial contributions in Robert’s memory be made to the charity of your choice.
