Trevena “TV” Gale (Stiles) Cool

Trevena “TV” Gale (Stiles) Cool passed away at Four Winds Rest Home on July 9, 2014 after being a resident there since June 2012. She was born April 22, 1935.

She was the daughter of Wilbur Orin and Evelyn Marjorie (McCammon) Stiles, who precede her in death. Also preceding her in death are brothers, Bernard (Betty) Stiles and Herman (Joyce) Stiles; sister, Esther Stiles (William) Dawson; and granddaughter, Layla Cool.

She is survived by her husband of 60 years Story Mason Cool, of Jackson. Also surviving are: sons, David (Martha) Cool and granddaughter India of Fairborn, Mark Cool and grandson Andrew (Lindsay) of the US Coast Guard, Michigan City, Ind.; and Matthew (Ellen) Cool and grandsons Max and Mason, of Buffalo (Tonawanda) NY. She is also survived by one brother Lehman (Gloria Karr) Stiles of Ashville, as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews.

“TV” was a graduate of Jackson High School class of 1954. Loved to remember and talk about her school years, walking to school and her friends. She loved all the seasons of the year and enjoyed walking in the snow. She always liked to visit with her family and many friends in Jackson and neighbors on Redondo Drive, where she had lived since 1960. She enjoyed the vacations to the ocean and the mountains. Her favorite car was her red 1999 Mustang. She was a member of the Wagon Wheelers Square Dance Club. She served as church secretary at Calvary UM for 20 years, where she was also a member soon after the church was built by Roland Fisher in the early 1950’s.

“TV” met her future husband, Story, in 1948 at the DTI Depot in Jackson. They married in 1954 after he returned from the Army (Korea). They lived for 5 years at Waverly, 1 year in Ironton and the rest of her life in her hometown of Jackson. She was a devoted wife and mother and homemaker who loved her family greatly.

Calling hours will be held on Friday, July 11 from 4– 8 p.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson. Service will be conducted at the funeral home on Saturday, July 12, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Terry Cavanaugh officiating. Burial will follow in the Fairmount Cemetery.
