Pauline Fain, age 81, of Rodney, and a former Wellston resident, passed away Thursday morning, July 10, 2014, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born September 20, 1932 in Ray, Ohio to the late Fred and Hazel Seymour Knox.
Pauline was a homemaker and loving mother of six children. She enjoyed canning food and attending church. Pauline’s life revolved around her family.
She is survived by two children, Gary Sowers of Wellston and Jean “Sis” Sandlin (Robert) of Rodney; grandchildren, Vanessa, Billie Jean, Jeremy, Billy Joe, Timmy, Gary Allen, Mila, Milan, Jalyn, Jason and Justin; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Brittany, Josh, Hunter, Brandon, Ashley, Katrina, Kasi, Bentley, Brady, Shane, Sebastian, Isaac, Briggs, Urijah, Hollee, Riley, Liam and Harrison; great-great-grandchildren, Hunter, Isaiah and Ethan; sisters, Gladys Griffin of Xenia, Pauline’s twin sister, Irene Brown of Wellston, Bonnie Caldwell of Washington C.H. and Sharon Massie of Wellston, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Ralph M. Fain in 2008; four sons, Eldon “Junior” Sowers, William Eugene “Bill” Sowers, Milan Lamar Fain and Dwaine Keith Fain; siblings, Carl Knox, Doris Himrick, Joann Byers and Gerald “Bud” Knox. Many thanks to the family members who have been there to help with their grandmother’s care.
Calling hours will be Saturday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Sunday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Patterson officiating. Burial will follow in the Hamden Cemetery.
