Harley D. Bowling, age 76, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born June 28, 1938 in Jackson County, Ohio to the late Edward D. Bowling and Proxy May Gullett Bowling.
Harley retired from Montgomery Trucking in Wellston, where he worked as a diesel mechanic for 44 years. He enjoyed camping, fishing and listening to bluegrass music.
Harley is survived by his wife of 25 years, Diane Hudson Bowling; children, Dave Bowling (Lisa) of Wellston, Twila Bowling (Dale Tennant) of Ray, Robin Bowling (Jeff Exline) of Wellston, Mona Miller (Greg) of Wellston, Trina Scarberry (Charles Shotts) of Wellston, Teresa Adkins (Foster) of Fort Myers, Fla., Sheri Bragg (Scott) of Wellston and Sandy Mills of Kentucky; brothers and sisters, Glen Bowling of Florida, Rosaline Mullins (Monroe) of Columbus, Dolly Motley of Columbus, and Keith Bowling (Mildred) of Columbus; his little canine buddy, P.J., as well as 19 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Besides his parents, Harley was preceded in death by his son, Leonard Lemaster; daughter, Donna Moore; sister, Sylvia Warner; two brothers, Vernon Bowling and Lloyd Bowling; two granddaughters and one great-grandson.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 2 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Friday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Barry Benson officiating. Burial will follow in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
