James E. (Jim) Yerian “Crow,” age 67, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was born June 15, 1946 in Jackson, Ohio, to the late Frank and Edith (Hill) Yerian.
James was preceded in death by both parents; step-father, Robert “Bob” Yerian; four brothers, Chris Yerian, Steve Yerian, Richard Yerian and Kenneth Yerian; one sister, Vicky Skaggs; and two brothers-in-law, Roger Canter and Steve Landrum.
James was a veteran of the Army and served two tours in Vietnam. He enjoyed being with his wife, kids, and laughing with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed playing slots at the casinos. He was a professional house husband and stay-at-home dad before it was cool.
James had 40 wonderful years with his loving wife Teresa (Harrell) Yerian. Jim and Teresa had two children together; a daughter, Valeria Yerian (Damon Ray); and a son, Joshua (Apryl) Yerian. James had one daughter, Kelly (Yerian) Tilley, from a previous relationship, all of Jackson, Ohio. He had five grandchildren; Jeremy McManis of Colorado; Hillary Ray, Katelyn Yerian, Candace Yerian, and Hunter Yerian, all of Jackson, Ohio. Siblings include Ray (Linda) Hughes of Lugoff, SC; Betty (and the late Roger) Cantor of Jackson, Ohio; Tom (Judy) Yerian of Jackson, Ohio, Anita (Kenny) Garrison of Jackson, Ohio; Jeff (Steph) Yerian of Jackson, Ohio; Ronnie (Regina) Yerian of Jackson, Ohio; John (Jessie) Yerian of Jackson, Ohio; Eddie (Betsy) Yerian of Chillicothe, Ohio; and Kevin Yerian of Jackson, Ohio. He had several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. He was blessed with a big family and a lot of friends. No one was a stranger to him. You could not take him anywhere without running into someone he knew. He was loved by so many and will be very deeply missed.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home in Jackson, Ohio.
