Eldon Ray Merrill, age 68, of Huber Heights, OH, and a former resident of Wellston, passed away September 17, 2013. He was born November 15, 1944 in Wellston, Ohio to Ernest Merrill and Virginia Reed Merrill. He was preceded in death by his father, Ernest Merrill and his brothers, Paul Merrill and Francis Merrill.
Eldon is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Linda Merrill; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Melissa Merrill of Jackson, Ohio; two grandchildren, Haley and Hannah; his mother, Virginia Merrill of Wellston; sisters, Wilma Peoples of Wellston and Sandra White of Wellston; brothers, Roger (Lori) Merrill of Springfield and Jeff (Jackie) Merrill of Wellston; his loyal canine companion, Katy; and numerous other loving relatives and friends.
Eldon proudly served the United States during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Air Force. He was a proud Ohio State Buckeye fan and had a passion for hunting and playing pool. Eldon was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
Calling hours will be held in his hometown of Wellston at the McWilliams Funeral Home on Saturday, September 21 from 5 to 8 p.m., where a funeral service will take place on Sunday at 2 p.m. with John Pelletier, CLP officiating.
