A proud graduate of the JHS Class of 1943, Lois has enjoyed the yearly class reunions and lunches with her classmates up until last year when her illness kept her home. Her employment began her junior year of high school at the Jackson movie theaters, the Kaymar and Markay and then she was employed at the Cambria Packing Company. She moved to Columbus and worked for the Workman’s Compensation Bureau as secretary to the Assistant Director. She left for Chicago in March of 1944 for a position with the U.S. Army, 5th Transportation Corps as Secretary to the Head of Liaison Office with Washington D.C. She had responsibilities related to expediting shipments of Army materials to Army bases.
Her working experience continued when she returned to Jackson at the Eastern Clay Products, and with Attorney Mary Bone and the Jackson County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office. From 1957-1980 she worked for International Minerals and Chemicals Corporation (formerly Eastern Clay Products) and retired as Office Manager of the Jackson location.
