Benjamin (Michael) Saylor, age 29, of Oak Hill, passed away July 26, 2019. He was born July 29, 1989, in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Garrett Saylor and Foster Strickland.
He is survived by one son, Maverick Saylor; parents, Art (Cheryl) Saylor and Karen (Jim) Rife; brothers, Craig (Tara) Saylor, Lee (Kelli) Saylor; step-sisters, Kristen and Brittany; step-brothers, Jeremy (Brandi), Jimmy, and Jake; and nieces and nephews: CJ, Mackenna, Joshua, Leah, Abby, Brody, Brenleigh, and Boone Saylor. Also surviving are his grandmothers, Mavis Burton and Jean Strickland; aunts and uncles: Terry (Debbie) Saylor and Pam Saylor, Becky (Eddie) Coleman, Rita Adkins, Tim (Tara) Strickland, Gary and Todd Strickland; along with several cousins and many friends.
Michael loved to hunt and fish and was loved and will be missed by so many.
“We want to thank all of the people who spent countless hours to bring Michael home,” a family member said.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to his son, Maverick P. Saylor, in memory of Michael, to any local Ohio Valley Bank. The Oak Hill Branch location is 116 N. Jackson St., Oak Hill, OH 45656.
Friends may call Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 25, 2020, at the funeral home with Pastors Jon Hensler and Stan Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Horeb Cemetery.
