Rik Alan Perkins, age 65, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2019, at his home. He was born Aug. 2, 1954 in McArthur, Ohio to the late Harry G. Perkins and Pearl C. Simmons Perkins.
Rik was a 1973 graduate of Wellston High School. He retired from Merillat Industries, where he was employed for 30 years. Rik was a member of the Archeologist Society of Ohio, and enjoyed hunting arrowheads. He also enjoyed deer hunting, going to the casino, watching westerns on T.V. and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, but his greatest pleasure was watching and playing with his grandson, Emry.
Rik is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cheryl L. Case Perkins; children, Becky Perkins (Ryan Milliken) of McArthur and Steven Perkins (Brad Coppick) of Wellston; grandson, Emry Milliken; and brothers, Mark Perkins of Wellston and Mike Perkins (Stephanie) of Coalton.
Besides his parents, Rik was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bermin and Bettie Case.
In keeping with Rik’s wishes, his body was cremated. A celebration of Rik’s life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions in Rik’s name be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Heartland Hospice Memorial Fund, P.O.
