Randel “Butch” Williams, age 74, of Pyro, passed away Friday, Oct. 18, 2019 at his home after an extended illness. Butch was born on May 9, 1945, in Ivel, KY to the late Willard and Bonnie (Hall) Williams.
Butch was an Army and Vietnam War Veteran. He served in the 1st Calvary Air Mobile Division, C Detachment, and 27th Maintenance Battalion, Forward Support. Butch loved to hunt, fish and play horseshoes, play cards, Yahtzee, and travel to Florida to visit and fish with his cousin Freddy.
On Nov. 9, 1965, Butch married the love of his life, Elizabeth Irene “Betty” (Carter) Williams, who preceded him in death on Dec. 10, 2014.
Butch is survived by his children; Rhonda McGhee of Pyro, Randy (Amy) Williams of Jackson, and Robin (Ryan) Burton of Oak Hill; grandchildren, Erica (Jon) Stevison, Scott (Shaun Miller) McGhee, Kendra and Kaitlyn Williams, Mikayla Burton (Brandon Gilliand) and Rebecca Burton (Gage Gilliand); great-grandchildren, Landon, Paige, and Garret Dailey; sisters-in-law, Sandy Williams and Donna Williams; brother-in-law, Roger Kozma; brother and sister-in-law, Forest and Mary Carter, along with his beloved puppy, “Pap’s Girl” as he would call her, Lucy.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Monk and Susie (Hopkins) Williams and Jack and Linne Belle (Endicot) Hall; two brothers, Clinton and Howard Williams; son-in-law, Roger McGhee; mother-in-law, Golda Carter; and sister-in-law, Rosemary Kozma.
