Dixie Lee Osborne, age 79, of Wellston, passed away Monday, March 5, 2018. She was born Nov. 1, 1938 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Walter Howard Woodruff and Evelyn Lucille Halterman Woodruff.
Dixie was a homemaker and a full-time military wife for the majority of her life. She enjoyed playing bingo and watching TV, which was always on Food Network, HGTV or game show channels. Above all else, though, Dixie enjoyed taking care of and spoiling her grandchildren.
Dixie is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Toni Osborne and Brendt and Tina Osborne, all of Wellston; son-in-law, Bill Perkins of Wellston; grandchildren, Kelli Long (Shane), Kerri Lewis (Jeff), Stephen Osborne (Kayleigh), and Christopher Osborne; great-grandchildren, Mikyla Williams (Stephen), Shanea Long, Ashtyn Lewis, Reece Lewis and Juniper Osborne; great-great-grandchildren, Easton Williams, Walker Williams, and Kasen Napper; brother, Bob Woodruff of Spring Lake, N.C.; sister, Susie Kuhn of Wellston, along with several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, Dixie was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Dorcil G. Osborne in 2003; two children, Walter “Punkin” Osborne in 1984 and Pam Perkins in 2017; and brothers, Dick Woodruff, Howard “Doodle” Woodruff and Mike Woodruff.
Calling hours will be Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Thursday at 1 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Ervin officiating. Burial will be in the Ridgewood Cemetery.
