William Franklin “Frank” Hughes, age 82, of Jackson, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. He was born in Jackson County on May 16, 1933 to the late Albert and Bessie (Whaley) Hughes. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Ewing.
He is survived by his wife, Judy K. (Hollingshead) Hughes; sons: William “Bill” (Renae) Hughes and Michael Foraker; daughters: Marilyn J. Cupp, Evia M. (Jerry) Lambert and Demetras (Timothy) Parsons; brother: Howard Hughes; sisters: Mary Alice Malone and Phyllis V. Rowland; grandchildren: Dottie Hughes, Greg Hughes, Michael Foraker, Harley Foraker, Lee Foraker, Makayla Foraker, William C. Stewart, Samuel Stewart, Brian Stewart, Amanda Stewart, A.J. Cupp, Christopher Lambert, Ashley Adkins, Clarissa Hollingshead, Chasity Parsons and Luci Ella Kay Parsons, and a host of great-grandchildren.
Frank was a member of the Jackson Baptist Temple. He worked in the logging and trucking business most of his life. He was an avid racing fan, from local tracks – Atomic (KC Raceway) and Brown County and watching/following the NASCAR series. He co-owned a late-model car with his friend, Charley Fannin in Hillsboro, Ohio.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 3, at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson with Pastor Allen Gibson officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home on Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Frank’s name to the Jackson Baptist Temple, 177 Industry Drive, Jackson, Ohio 45640.
