Nancy Jean Haas

Nancy Jean Haas, 85, of Kirkersville, died Wednesday afternoon, April 13, 2016, at her home following a six-week illness. She was born in Wellston, on September 20, 1930, the daughter of the late Paul H. and Florence (Stover) Gettles. She was a graduate of Wellston High School, Class of 1949, and had worked for many years as a nurse’s aide at Monterey York Care Center in Columbus and as a cook for Kindercare.

Nancy loved all birds, feeding the wild birds and her own bird, “Blackie.” She was a 50-year member of Wellston Chase Chapter #132, Order of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her loving family: Stephanie “Stevie” (Gary) Kendrick of Millersport, Paul “Bill” (Sue) Haas of Baltimore, Richard Haas of Kirkersville, grandchildren Autumn (Keith) Hoffman, Tiffany Burger, Tony Horne (Audra) and Tony “T.K”. (Stacy) Kendrick, along with her 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard “Dick” and her sister, Bonny Jane Morrow.

Honoring Nancy’s wishes, she will be cremated and there will be no services at this time.
