Norma J. “Jackie” Jividen, age 71, of Coalton, passed away Wednesday, July 30, 2014, at the home of her daughter in Athens, Ohio. She was born July 28, 1943 in Burdine, Kentucky to the late Norvil Hounshell and Lois Shook Hounshell Rowan.
Jackie worked for several years as a nurse’s aide, which was her passion in life. She was also a former employee in the trauma center at the OSU Hospital in Columbus. In years past, she was an avid bingo player. Jackie, for several years, attended the Catholic Church and was confirmed in the Catholic faith in 1977. She recently attended Freedom Chapel in Wellston. Jackie loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Arlene Ousley of Athens, Lois Renee Odom (Gary) of Goldsboro, NC, and Bill Jividen (Angie) of Radcliff; siblings, Velva Bentley of Westerville, Martha Oheel of Logan, Junior Hounshell (Chris) of Cecil, Oh., and Sherry Taulbee (Bob) of Logan, as well as eight grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-father, George Rowan; brother, James Hounshell; brother-in-law, Carl Bentley; grandson, Jayden Cain Mitchell, and nephew, Little Jim Wilson.
Calling hours will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral services will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Perry Brafford officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenlawn Memory Gardens in Coalton.
