Homer F. Browning, 64, of Jackson, was called to his Heavenly home Wednesday, July 30, 2014. The son of the late Allen and Lucille Vititoe Browning, he was born May 14, 1950, at McArthur. Homer had been a long-time employee of the Austin Powder Company and he was a faithful member of the Community of Christ Church in Wellston.
Homer is survived by his wife, Mary Pixley Browning; two sons, Thomas Wayne Browning and Michael Phillip Browning, both of McArthur; and 17 grandchildren. Other survivors include his brother, Allen Jr. of Florida; and sisters, Rosie “Birdie” Lowe and Shirley Elkins, both of Wellston. Lastly, Homer’s dog, Baby Lynn will miss him greatly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert; and his sisters, Joann McNillis, Mary Fisher, Marcella Browning and Helen Arland.
Family and friends will gather Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Huntley & Cremeens Funeral Home in Wellston. A service, officiated by Doug Wright, will take place at the conclusion of calling hours and burial will take place in the Radcliff Cemetery. Arrangements for Homer Browning have been entrusted to the Huntley & Cremeens Funeral Home.
