Betty Hunter Wilt, age 71, of Wellston, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. She was born September 9, 1942 in Wellston, Ohio to Charles J. Hunter and Bernice Louella Thacker Hunter.
Betty was a former employee of Chung King and R.J. Reynolds and then later retired from General Mills, where she was employed for 26 years. Betty was a loving daughter, wife, sister and aunt, whose greatest joy in life was caring for her family.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years, Samuel I. Wilt; mother, Bernice Hunter of Wellston; sisters, Charlotte Hubbard of Jackson and Mary Young of Wellston, as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Charles J. Hunter; brother, Charles A. Hunter and her sisters, Maggie Malone and Dora Smith.
Calling hours will be Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Rev. Ed McClelland officiating.
