Paul E. Howell, age 77, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia. He was born in Blackfork, Ohio on November 21, 1936 to the late Bernard and Margie (Harris) Howell.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from General Dynamics of Lima, Ohio. He attended the Jackson Baptist Temple of Jackson, Ohio. He was a big fan of the Cleveland Browns and horse racing.
He is survived by his wife, Robin (Beatty) Howell of Oak Hill, Ohio; daughter, Lisa (Jim) Holman of California; step-daughter, Stacy Riley (Chris) Smith of Oak Hill, Ohio; one granddaughter, Chelsea Holman of California; three step-grandsons, Michael Craddoff, Malargra Wilson of Fostoria and Eston Riley of Oak Hill, Ohio; step-granddaughters, Tara Beatty of Oak Harbor, Oak Hill, Ohio, Kaylee, Kasey, Riley, and Emma Figgins of Oak Hill, Ohio; special grandson, Matthew Long of Fostoria, Ohio; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Lorretta (Eddie) Long of Columbus, Ohio and Linda Howell of South Shore, Kentucky; three brothers, Philip (Maddie) Howell of Columbus, Ohio, Dale Howell (Lani) of Oak Hill, Ohio, and Greg (Diane) Howell of California; a great-niece that lived in the home, Celesity Denny; and his beloved dog, Rocky; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was his first wife, Lois (Long) Howell; also a son, Paul Howell Jr.; an infant son, Tracey Howell; and step-daughter, Sylvia Craddoff; and brother, Michael Howell.
Friends may call at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 from 4 to 7 p.m. A service will follow at 7 p.m. with Pastor Allen Gibson officiating.
