Shelba Jean Baker, age 74, joined her Heavenly Father on Friday, June 6, 2014 at her home in Jackson, Ohio, surrounded by her loving family. She is the daughter of the late Thomas and Edith (Gilliland) Boswell.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Willis Ray Baker; three sisters: Jo Stewart and her daughter, Debbie of Pataskala, Ohio, Penny Halushka of California, and Mary Cervantes of California; brother, Harry Boswell of California; three cherished daughters, Jewell (Peter) Hills, Tessie (Jeff) Simmons, and Tammy (Steve) Riegel, all of Jackson, Ohio; seven grandchildren: David McGhee, Kelly McGhee, Eric (Jamie) McGhee, Angie Riegel, Kristi (TJ) McDonald and Sarah Waugh, all of Jackson, Ohio and Craig (Kristin) Waugh of Columbus, Ohio; and great-grandchildren, Hunter Skeens, Madison Gilliland, Dillon Skeens, Braylan Skeens, Jennalynn Manering, Gage McGhee, Zane McGhee and Emma McDonald all of Jackson, Ohio; special family friends Martha (Dwight) Walburn, Norma (Fred) Riegel, of Jackson, Ohio as well as brothers and sisters in-law, many nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters: Emily, Donna, and Sue; and one angelic granddaughter, Michelle Hickman.
Graveside service will be held at the Logpile Cemetery in Vinton County, Ohio on Sunday, June 8, 2014 at 2 p.m. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home of Jackson, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Shelba’s name to Holzer Hospice, c/o Holzer Health System, 100 Jackson Pike, Gallipolis, Ohio 45631.
