Mary Elizabeth “Mary Lib” Jones

Mary Elizabeth “Mary Lib” (Kimbel) Jones, age 87, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Sunday, February 2, 2014 at the Four Winds Community Nursing Facility of Jackson, Ohio. She was born November 27, 1926 to the late Robert and Jennie (Davis) Kimbel in Jackson, Ohio.

Mary Elizabeth was a 1944 graduate of Jackson High School. After graduation she began employment at the Iron Bank, and later worked for Dallas Rummager at Dallas Chevrolet. She left Dallas Chevrolet in 1949 to marry Dwight “Dinge” Jones, whom she was married to for nearly 56 years until his passing in September of 2005.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson, as well as a past member of the Jackson Century Club, Jackson Literary Club, and the Welsh Cardiff Club.

Mary Elizabeth is survived by three sons, Morgan (Sharon) Jones of Cincinnati, Ohio, and David Kim and Brent Jones, both of Jackson, Ohio; a daughter, Bronwyn Jones, of Jackson, Ohio; five grandchildren, Rachel, Harrison, Joshua, Katelyn, and Rhys Jones; her brother, Bill (Anna Marie) Kimbel of Wellston, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Maxine Jones of Virginia Beach, Virginia; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Kimbel.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Four Winds Community Fast Track Staff for their care and support in her final days.

There will be no public viewing and private services will be observed. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family under the direction of Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. Online condolences may be sent to
