Bobby Joe Ousley, Sr., age 69, of Jackson, went to be with the Lord Thursday evening June 6, 2013. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gertie Hall-Ousley; daughter, Stephanie (Greg) Grimes; son, Bobby (Ginger) Ousley; daughter, Nancy Ousley; seven grandchildren, Brianna Grimes (Justin Adams), Kelsy (Mark) Staten, Devin (Jonna) Johnson, Trevor Arthur, Samantha Ousley, Rylee Grimes, and Carolyn Snyder; and three great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Maddison and Devon.
Bob was born in Bainbridge, Ohio on November 15, 1943. When he was 19 years old he met the love of his life, Gertie at the local skating rink in Wellston, Ohio and they have been inseparable ever since. Bob gave his heart to the Lord while he was still a young adult, and since then has always ministered and shared the love of God with everyone he came in contact with. He drove the church bus for over 30 years, always stopping and inviting kids to come to church to learn the word of God he held so close to his heart.
His favorite Bible verse that he wrote on everything was John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Bob loved the Lord with all his heart and everyone who met him knew immediately. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
