Kathrine J. King, age 79, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2012, at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe. She was born October 22, 1932 in Napolean, Ohio, the daughter of the late David S. Yates, Sr. and Esther Dawson Yates. Kathrine was a former employee of the Pants Factory and Jeno’s. She was a loving homemaker and was a member of the American Legion Post 371 Ladies Auxiliary.
Kathrine is survived by two sons, Charles King of Wellston and Steve King of Jackson; her companion, Frank Ferguson of Wellston; seven grandchildren, Brittany Sickles, Kelly King Bejarano, Jeremy King, Taylor King, Tori King, Justin King and Megan Strickland; two great-grandchildren, Peyton Sickles and Brinley Sickles; two sisters, Dorothy Hunter of Jackson and Evelyn Scarberry of Lancaster; one brother, Robert Yates of Wellston, as well as several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles King in 1985; sister, Helen Williamson and her brother, David Yates, Jr.
Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Walter “Bub” Norris officiating. Burial will follow in the Campbell Cemetery.
