Michael Franklin Carter, age 49, of Oak Hill, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012. He was born December 27, 1962 in Columbus, Ohio to Merle and Phyllis (Crabtree) Carter.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by sons, Evan and Eli Carter; sister, Tammy (James) George; nephews, Mason and Garrison George.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Tina (Stiltner) Carter; an infant sister, Michelle Carter; grandparents, Floyd and Golda Carter and Lester and Norma Crabtree. He is also survived by several aunts and uncles, cousins and relatives.
He was employed by Jackson Plastics, in Jackson. He enjoyed watching sports, NASCAR, and playing baseball and basketball with his sons, Evan and Eli. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed his collection of baseball and NASCAR memorabilia. Michael graduated from Oak Hill High School in 1981.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2012 at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home in Oak Hill (formerly Kuhner-Lewis) with burial following in Horeb Cemetery. Friends may call Sunday, August 12, 2012 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
