Katherine Lee (Ratliff) Henry, age 88, of Jackson, passed away Thursday, August 16, 2012 at Riverside Hospital in Columbus. She was born August 24, 1923 in Portsmouth, Ohio to the late Luther and Monnie (Hitchcock) Ratliff. She was a graduate of Rio Grande College and taught in the Jackson City Schools for 29 years.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Kenneth Ray Henry, daughter, Kendra Lee Henry (Ken) of Colorado Springs; three grandchildren, Jeffrey Robert Ettenhofer (Maria) of San Francisco, Andrew Kenneth Ettenhofer (Nicole) of Chicago, and Stephanie Dawn Ramey (Jeremy) of Sunbury, Ohio; one great-grandchild, Caleb Ramey; sister-in-law, Peg Ratliff; brother-in-law, Al Banister and daughter-in- law, Mary Henry.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three siblings, James Ratliff, Anna Belle Banister and Clifford Ratliff; and one son, Robert Keith Henry.
Katie loved teaching, reading, traveling and her family. She is loved and remembered for her humor, wisdom and devotion to friends and family.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, August 20, 2012 at the Lewis-Gillum Funeral Home (formerly Eisnaugle-Lewis Funeral Home) with Rev. David Roach officiating and burial to follow in Fairmount Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, August 19, 2012 at the funeral home.
