Richard R. Smith, age 81, of Jackson, Ohio, passed away Sunday, December 19, 2021, at the Jenkins Community Care in Wellston. He was born March 12, 1940, to the late Russell R. Smith and Zona Burtenshaw Smith.
Richard, or Dick, as he was known on a construction site, was passionate about his work, serving as a supervisor for AJ Stockmeister, Inc. and Geiger Brothers, Inc. for his entire career.
Richard is survived by his loving wife of nearly 57 years, Brenda Bolen Smith. He is also survived by his siblings: BoDine (Gary) Rader of Jackson, Berneta Fout of Beaver, Ohio, Brenda (Fred) Richards of Newark, Ohio, Bernadine (Larry) Conkle of Ruston, Louisiana, Rodney Smith of Jackson, Sidney (Linda) Smith of Jackson, Beverly Griffiths of Jackson and Rick (Jan) Smith of Jackson. He is preceded in death by his parents; an infant daughter; brothers-in-law: Raymond Fout, Jr. and Dan Griffiths; and sister-in-law, Pam Smith.
