Ruth R. Lewis

Ruth R. Lewis, age 96, of Jackson passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2022, at her home. She was born March 23, 1926, in Springfield, Ohio to the late Thomas and Nettie Gordon Sullivan.

She was a member of the Jackson First Baptist Church and was an excellent cook. In her free time, she enjoyed making crafts and setting up at flea markets. She also loved to square dance and was a member of the Wagon Wheelers. For many years, she could be found working beside her late husband in their construction business, painting and hanging wallpaper.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband of 72 years, Forrest “Bud” Lewis, Jr. She is survived by her sons: Roger E. Lewis and Richard (Debra) Lewis; sister, Dorothy Sullivan; sister-in-law, Dorothy Slavens; grandchildren: Richard Jr (Lindsay) Lewis, Rustina L. Lewis and Michela (Chandler) Waite; great-grandchildren: Kayla Lewis, Kerrigan Lewis, Piper Lewis, Wade Artz, Lucas Waite and Logan Waite; as well as several nieces, nephews and their families.

The family would like to thank two very special people for all their support and help over the years: sister-in-law, Dorothy Slavens, and niece, Ruth Ann Dulaney.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, 2022, at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Keeton officiating and burial to follow in the Fairmount Cemetery.
