Larry Edward McCoy, age 31, of Oak Hill, Ohio, passed away suddenly of a brain aneurysm early Saturday morning, Aug. 1, 2020 at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio. He was born June 9, 1989 in Gallipolis, Ohio to Larry G. and Cheryl (Fisher) McCoy.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his son, Austin Michael McCoy and Ashley Woods, mother of his son; sister, Jessica McCoy; maternal grandfather, Harold E. Fisher Jr.; aunts: Leslie (Paul) Rice, Tara (Mike) Abrams, Susie (Terry) Hicks, Sheliah (Bob) Haislop, Janice (Steven) Aryee, Lesia (Rodney) Gowen, Melissa (Shawn) Marchio, and Nancy McCoy; uncle, Kenneth (Shawna) McCoy; special cousin he thought of as a brother, Braiden McCoy; girlfriend, Jessica Jones; stepson, J.J. Jones; special friends: Brian Crum, Travis Cleveland, Jessica Lusby, and Tyler Lusby; as well as several cousins he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Willard and Katherine McCoy; paternal grandmother, Barbara S. Fisher; uncles, Bob McCoy and Don McCoy; aunts, Linda Vitatoe and Pauline McCoy; and cousins, Tammy Hensley, Tabbitha Allen, and Brittany Paige Rice.
Larry enjoyed working on cars, riding four-wheelers, and hunting.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020 from 12 to 2 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Funeral services followed at 2 p.m. with Pastor Stan Howard officiating. Burial was in C.M. Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made to the funeral home to help with expenses. Per CDC guidelines and governor recommendations, everyone was asked to wear a mask indoors and practice proper social distancing procedures and guidelines.
