Gloria Jean Howell, age 73, of Oak Hill, passed away Saturday, Aug. 15, 2020 at Oakwood Community in Jackson. She was born Oct. 26, 1946 in Oak Hill, to the late Edward and Virgie Mae (Angel) Davis.
She is survived by her husband, David L. Howell, whom she married on May 12, 1978; daughter, Tammy Annette Bailey; granddaughter, Autumn Smith Perkins (Scott Perkins); and brothers, Eddie Davis, Bob Davis, Frank Davis and Issac Davis. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Stanley Davis, Morgan Davis, Tom Davis, John Davis and David Davis; and sisters, Darla Davis and Melissa Davis.
Gloria was a homemaker. She enjoyed crossword and jigsaw puzzles and gardening. Most of all she enjoyed being with her family.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 17, 2020 at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020 at C.M. Cemetery with Pastor Jamie Moseley officiating. Burial will immediately follow.
