Robert Michael Gambino, age 43, of Burlington, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. He was born in Gulfport, Mississippi on Jan. 11, 1977 to Becky and Mike Gambino of Jackson, Ohio.
Michael attended Elon College near Burlington, NC where he settled down after college.
He was known as Mike or Bino or Gamby to his many friends at Piedmont Ale House where he worked for many years, serving up a smile and a drink without fail.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Mallock; grandmother, Kay Gambino; uncle, Tom Gambino and uncle, Jerry Gambino.
He is survived by his mother, Becky Gambino; father, Mike Gambino; grandmother, Lois Mallock; partner, Michelle Townsend; uncle, Bill Mallock; aunt, Marti Stover; uncle, Richard Gambino; uncles, Jim and Earl Goodman; aunt, Joan Hurst; aunt, Sylvia Myers; many cousins and nieces; and his work family at Piedmont Ale House.
Michael was a sports fan, especially the Philly Eagles and Rangers and the Yankees. He also enjoyed swimming, fishing, video games and golf when time allowed; but being with his partner Michelle and their dogs, Miss Piggi and Jersey, most of all.
A celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020 at the First Presbyterian Church, 225 Church St., Jackson, Ohio at 1 p.m. Masks and proper social distancing are required. Inurnment will follow at Fairmount Cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home in Jackson.
