Ida K. Stevens

Ida K. Stevens, age 86, of Wellston, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. She was born Feb. 27, 1931 in Coal Township, Jackson County, Ohio, daughter of the late Albert Morgan Miller and Orpha Canter Miller.

In her earlier years, Ida was an employee of Big Wheel in Jackson, as well as being a former certified EMT for the E.M.S. for several years. She was also a former employee of the Fairgreens Country Club and most recently, the Pizza Pub in Wellston, working at both for a combined total of 30 years. Ida was a member of the Wellston Senior Citizens, and in her spare time she enjoyed raising a big garden, taking care of the farm animals, and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of over 70 years, Robert F. Stevens; two sons, Edward A. Stevens of Wellston and Donald E. Stevens (Kristy) of Wellston; six grandsons, John Stevens, Bobby Stevens (Elizabeth), Shawn Stevens (Lydia), Todd Stevens (Andrea), Adam Stevens (Sara) and Morgan Stevens (Jessica), all of Wellston; sister, Audrey Garvin (Ronald) of Wellston, along with 16 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Ida was preceded in death by two brothers, John Miller and Ed Miller, and two daughters-in-law, Debbie Stevens and Debbie Stevens.

Calling hours will be Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home in Wellston. Funeral service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at the McWilliams Funeral Home with Pastor Rob Ervin officiating. Burial will follow in the Salem Cemetery.
