Hal Borden, Jr.

It is with great sadness that the family of Hal Borden Jr., announces his passing after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at the age of 88 years. Hal was a retired truck driver from Jaymar Coal Co. He also was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.

Hal will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Connie (Howell) Borden, his children, Rhonda Payne and Tawna Borden, both of Gallipolis, grandson, Jonathan Payne, of Bidwell, great grandsons, Kaden Payne and Peyton Payne. Hal will also be fondly remembered by his brother, Mike (Patty) Payne, of Columbus, Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Hal was preceded in death by his father, Hal Borden Sr., mother, Marie Payne, brothers, Loren, Giles, Earl and Edward Borden and two sisters, Betty and Elsie Borden.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, November 3, 2017 at the Union Baptist Cemetery in Blackfork, Ohio with Rev. Keith Fulton officiating. Full military honors will be acknowledged at the cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, November 2, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill.
