Willard Eugene “Punkin” Sprouse, Sr.

Willard Eugene “Punkin” Sprouse, Sr., age 83 of Jackson, peacefully passed away on Friday, December 16, 2016 at Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis. He was born on November 26, 1933 in Jackson to the late Charles and Mary Jane (Smith) Sprouse. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary (Riffle) Sprouse; sons: Willard Eugene Sprouse, Jr., and Charles Smith; daughter, Mary Ann Bradley; and a brother, Clarence Sprouse.

He is survived by his son, Marshall Allen Sprouse; and grandchildren: Michelle Bradley, Sebastian Sprouse and Bobbie Martin and more, including great-grandchildren.

“Punkin” was a loving husband, father and brother. He was the local owner of the Midway Cafe in Coalton where he had many loyal and loving friends. He enjoyed playing pool; always spoke his mind; and collected everything. He loved his dog “Sheba”.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 20 at 11:00 a.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Mathews officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, December 19 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.
