William “Bill” Eugene Erwin, Jr.

William “Bill” Eugene Erwin, Jr., age 78 of Jackson, passed away at his residence on Saturday, December 10, 2016. He was born in Jackson on May 25, 1938 to the late William E. and Mary Joanne (Bierhup) Erwin, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Paula Erwin, and two brothers, John and Jimmy Erwin.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis (Swan) Erwin; sons: William “Tony” (Cindy) Erwin, Kevin (Dawn) Erwin and Mark (Misti) Fout; daughter, Deb Fout; and grandchildren: Alec Erwin, Cameron Erwin, Chandler Fout, Elizabeth Fout, Alex Fout, Jessica Honeycut, Hannah Erwin, Kathy Erwin and Zach Erwin. Two sisters, JoAnna McCoy and Rosalyn McCoy also survive.

Bill lived in Jackson County all his life and was a cattle farmer and worked at Goodyear for 28 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a Deacon and a member of the Four Mile Christian Church, a fire-fighter with the Cove Volunteer Fire Department and a member of the Cattleman’s Association. He was also involved with the Jackson County Fair and 4-H.

Funeral services will held at the Four Mile Christian Church on Thursday, December 15 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Charles Domigan officiating. Burial will follow in the Hannah Cemetery. The family will received friends on Wednesday, December 14 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Jackson County Dog Pound, 275 Portsmouth Street, Jackson, Ohio 45640.
