Patricia M. “Pat” Tope

Patricia M. “Pat” Tope, age 81, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 11, 2016, at Heartland Nursing Home in Jackson, OH. She was born December 8, 1934 in New York, New York, to Donald H. Pullem and Beatrice M. (Tierney) Pullem.

On February 10, 1955, she married Henry B. Tope, Jr. Pat retired as the Director of the Woodland Centers Inpatient Unit and Crisis Line in 1996. Henry and Pat were dedicated members of their community and were instrumental in the founding of the Oak Hill Teen Center and donated much of their time to community activities in the Village of Oak Hill. Pat was a founding member and past President of the Southern Ohio Arts Council; a member and past President of the United Way; founding member of Serenity House; and a member of the Oak Hill Coterie Club. Pat traveled extensively throughout the world and loved sharing stories of her travels with family and friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Henry Tope and her parents, Donald and Beatrice Pullem.

Pat is survived by daughter, Cathie (Roger) Rippeth of Jackson, OH; son, Chris Tope of Cincinnati, OH; granddaughter, Elizabeth (Jeff) Chinault of Springboro, OH; great-grandson, Landon Chinault of Springboro, OH; brother, Donald (Peggy) Pullem of Rochester, MI; brother, Robert (Linda) Pullem of Panama City Beach, FL; brother, Tim (Judy) Pullem of Ashland, KY; several nieces and nephews and her best friend, Elaine (Chuck) Crabtree of Oak Hill, OH.

At Pat’s request she was cremated. Services are under the direction of the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home and will be held at the convenience of the family. Donations in her honor may be made to the Glut1 Deficiency Foundation, P.O. Box 943, Westfield, Indiana 46074-0943.
