Wayne E. Orender

Wayne E. Orender, age 67, of Wellston, passed away Tuesday morning, January 12, 2016, at the Holzer Medical Center in Gallipolis, Ohio. He was born December 14, 1948 in Bandy, Virginia, the son of the late Rufus Glenn Orender and Gladys Irene Hartless Fitzgerald. Wayne was a veteran of the United States Army.

A member of the United Mine Workers of America, he built underground tunnels in Chicago, Illinois as his former occupation. Wayne is survived by his children, Kimberly Tomblin of West Virginia, Melissa Fox of Kentucky, Rufus Eugene Orender of Kentucky and Twilla Orender of Illinois; brother, Glenn Orender of Wellston; sisters, Donna Camden, Bonnie Wallace, Betty Hamilton, Elizabeth Camden and Judy Snyder, all of Virginia, as well as 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In keeping with Wayne’s wishes, there will be no services and his body was cremated. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions be given to the American Heart Association.
