Jerry Gordon Chandler

Jerry Gordon Chandler, age 76, of Jackson, passed away at his residence on Saturday, January 9, 2016, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on June 23, 1939 in Beaver, Ohio to the late George Estil Chandler and Lydia (McKenzie) Chandler.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann Chandler, and children: Christina Dawn Yates, Jeffrey Gordon Chandler, Laurie Jean Chandler, Bobby Joe Dollar, Gregory Allen Chandler and Jerry Estil Chandler. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren (plus two on the way), several nieces and nephews, and many other loved ones too numerous to name.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Hargas Roscoe McKenzie and Jack Chandler, and sisters, Annalee McKenzie Newman and Beulah Mae McKenzie.

Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army, a member of Iron Workers Local 172, and the disaster response team. He was also a devoted Christian and a charter member of the Grace Baptist Fellowship Church in Wellston.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 14, at 2 p.m. at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Fairmount Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
