Elmer Ferrell

Elmer Ferrell, age 82, of Jackson, Ohio, went to meet our Lord on Saturday, August 22, 2015. He was born May 29, 1933 in Pikeville, Kentucky to the late Malin and Diedema (Ford) Ferrell.

Elmer retired in 1995 from Taylor Machine in Michigan, and then moved to Jackson. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He was also a member of Trinity Chapel Church of Christ in Jackson.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Mae (McCoy) Ferrell; his children: Doretha Curylo, Donna Taylor Smith, Deborah Gambino Pence, Brenda (Mike) Trautz, John (Nichole) Ferrell, and Crystal (James) Lewis; brother, Randall Ferrell; sister, Mary Syck; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Sharon Ferrell Hanley; granddaughter, Connie Gambino; great-granddaughter, Breana Taylor; as well as numerous siblings.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Trinity Chapel of Jackson with Rev. Bob Jones officiating. Burial will follow at C.M. Cemetery.
