Benjamin Forshey

Benjamin Forshey, age 83, of Jackson, passed away Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Adena Regional Medical Center in Chillicothe surrounded by his family. Ben was born February 14, 1932 in Jackson County, Ohio to the late Joe and Effie Evans Forshey.

Ben was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church, former Rio Grande professor, was active as a former scoutmaster for Troop 48 and loved to do woodworking.

Ben is survived by son, Tim (Paula) Forshey and daughter, Kathy (Mark) Carlisle, both of Jackson and daughter, Suzy (Mike) Leach of Eaton, Ohio. Ben has five grandchildren; Sarah (Andy) Harris, Sally (Justin) Mullins, Danielle (Phillip) Malone, Matthew Carlisle and Benjamin Leach. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren: Carson, Chloee and Drew Harris, Emma, Mason and Miles Malone; brothers, Jim and Ab Forshey and sister, Janice Miller.

In addition to his parents, Ben was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Leonard Forshey; brothers, Bill and Jake Forshey and sister, Helen Altherr.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, March 23, 2015 at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at the Christ United Methodist Church Family Life Center with burial to follow at the Franklin Valley Cemetery.
