Mary E. “Libby” Fields

Mary E. “Libby” Fields, age 85, of Washington CH, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 1:45 a.m. at Court House Manor Nursing Home.

She was born on February 9, 1930 in Jackson, Ohio to Joseph and Golda Gramm Shields. She was a 1948 graduate of Jackson High School. She had previously been employed by Montgomery Ward, Visador and had been the Director of the Senior Citizens of Fayette County. She had been a very active member of the Heritage Memorial Church and the Washington Garden Club. She was very creative and loved to bake, sew, ceramics and painting. She won many ribbons at the Fayette County Fair for her various pies, noodles and homemade goods. She loved her family and especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Libby was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert J. Fields, sons Kenneth E. Sanderson and John J. Sanderson, step-son Donald Fields and her brother, Haldor Shields.

Survivors include her children Philip “Mike” (Barb) Sanderson of West Virginia, Greg Sanderson of Troy, Randy Sanderson of West Virginia, Jill (Danny) Springer of Washington CH and step-daughter Barbara (John) Andrews of Oklahoma; several grand, great-grand and great-great-grandchildren as well as nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 24, at 7 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Duvall officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4 p.m.-7 p.m.
