Leonard William Dobbins

Leonard William Dobbins, age 74, of Grove City, Ohio passed away on Wednesday February 11, 2015. He was born in Jackson, Ohio on December 13, 1940 to the late Lawrence and Alice (Essman) Dobbins. He was preceded in death by his first wife JoAnn (Carlton) and by his second wife Linda (Meadows).

He is survived by his daughters Danetta Adams of Columbia, MO, from his first marriage and Christina Dobbins of Columbus, Ohio, from his second marriage, brothers; Dr. Richard L. (Lois- deceased) Dobbins of Otterbein St. Mary’s, Ohio and James Alan (Ann) Dobbins of Blacklick, Ohio; granddaughter; Sierra Adams and several nieces and nephews; very special cousins; Donald (Mary) Ousley, Rita (Edward) Miller, Sharon (Robert) Grimes, Helen (Leland) Benson and many other cousins.

Leonard honorably served in the United States Navy and was a member of the American Legion for over 31 years. He served on the Legion Color Guard for many of those years. Leonard was a member of the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels. He worked for Armco Steel in Washington CH, Ohio and later retired from Mason Dixon Freight Lines.

Rosary will be said at 9:30 a.m. on Monday February 23, in the chapel at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 3730 Broadway Grove City, Ohio. Please plan to arrive 10 minutes early for the Rosary. Visitation will follow the Rosary from 10 a.m. til 11 a.m. for family and friends. Mass of Christian Burial will follow visitation at 11 a.m. with Father Dan Millisor, Celebrant. Lunch will be served immediately after Mass. Inurnment will be at 1:45 p.m. at St. Colmans Catholic Cemetery 116 S. Elm St. Washington Court House, Ohio. Arrangements by Schoedinger Grove City Chapel.
