Regina (Harrison) Chaney

Regina (Harrison) Chaney, age 89, passed away Thursday, February 19th with her son, Mike, and her daughter, Susan, at her side. Regina was born on October 26, 1925 in Blackfork, Ohio, the daughter of the late Charles C. and Mary (Spearry) Harrison.

She is survived by her children, Mike (Janet) Lambert of Coal Grove and Susan (John) McGowan of Basking Ridge, NJ; grandchildren, Zane (Amelia) Lambert of Zanesville, Marc Lambert of Colonial Heights, VA, Rob Lambert of South Point, Emily McGowan of College Park, MD and Andrew McGowan of Basking Ridge, NJ; great-grandchildren, Allison and Clayton Lambert of Zanesville, Lance Lambert of Colonial Heights, VA and Alex Lambert of Ashland, KY; brother-in-law, Ken Malone of Pedro and sister-in-law, Dee Harrison Fulton of Ray, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Charles Robert Lambert who passed away in 2011; her brother Robert Harrison; her brother, Charles Harrison; and her sister, Norma Malone.

Regina was a lifetime member of the Blackfork United Methodist Church.

She was a teacher, and taught school at Blackfork Elementary and Jackson City Schools for over 30 years. She taught at Scioto, Kinnison and Parkview Elementary Schools and taught 8th grade US History at Jackson High School. Regina also taught Adult Basic Education in the evenings for 14 years.

She volunteered in many local charitable organizations in Jackson, and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

Regina was a loving and generous mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend and she will be missed by all who knew her.

Friends may call at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson on Monday, February 23, 2015 from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Terry Cavanaugh officiating.
