Gregory Smith, age 55, of Oak Hill, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 28, 2014. He was born on July 29, 1958 the son of Earl Ivan Smith and Nellie Brown Smith. He was an employee of Holzer Hospital of Jackson, Ohio. He was also a member of World Outreach Ministries.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Kimberly (Cooper) Smith; sons, Adam (Amy) Smith, and Jeremy (Heather) Smith; brothers, Randy (Donna) Smith, Larry (Evelyn) Smith, and Bruce (Donna) Smith; sisters, Erma (Harold) Nelson, Shirley Smith, and Debbie (Randy) Bishop; grandsons, Tyson, Trey, and Zion; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws; a special friend, Roger (Debbie) Stapleton and many other friends; including his faithful “furry” companions, Dakota and Savana.
Preceding him in death in addition to his parents were his brothers, Earl “Sonny” Smith and Gene Smith; and sisters, Isabelle Smith, Pauline (Arnold) Davis, and Pamela (Dan) West.
Greg was loved by many and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, May 2, 2014 at 2 p.m. with Pastor Rob Ervin officiating. Burial will follow at Horeb Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, May 1, 2014 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Oak Hill, Ohio.
