Franklin Ray Rapp

Franklin Ray Rapp, age 62, of Jackson, Ohio passed away at his residence on Friday, January 24, 2014. He was born October 24, 1951 in Wellston, Ohio to the late Franklin M. and Darlene Rapp.

Frank was a 1969 graduate of Wellston High School, and a veteran of the United States Air Force, having served from 1971 to 1975. He enjoyed playing cards, karaoke, sports, and spending time with his grandkids.

Frank is survived by his wife of 31 years, Carolyn K. (Canter) Rapp; daughter, Shirley Jean (James) Barlow of Hoschton, Georgia; daughter, Carolyn “Keri” (Tyler) Newkirk of Jackson, Ohio; son, Franklin “Joey” (Bettie) Rapp of Jackson, Ohio; brothers, Lawrence Rapp and Leroy “Shorty” Mosier, both of Wellston, Ohio; sisters, Rita (Steve) Jarvis of Wellston, Ohio, Ava (Casey) Denney of Jackson, Ohio, and Margaret (Vale) Lanning of Jackson, Ohio; eight grandchildren, Keisha, Brittany, and James Barlow of Georgia, Kieran and Callie Newkirk, Morgan and Macie Potts, and Landon Rapp all of Jackson, Ohio; one great-grandson, Aiden Carl of Georgia; and several nieces and nephews as well.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Richard “Rick” Rapp.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 27, 2014 at Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, Ohio. Friends may call on Sunday, January 26, 2014 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
