Charles Emerson Bowman

Charles Emerson Bowman, age 73, of Jackson, Ohio passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was born January 27, 1940 in Hamilton Township, Jackson, Ohio to the late Waldo and Mildred (Parks) Bowman.

Charles was a teacher of Math, Chemistry, and Physics for the Jackson City Schools for many years. He attended and was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. He was also Scoutmaster of Boy Scout Troop 48. He was a life member of the Board of Simon Kenton Council, and on the Board of Directors for Chief Logan Council; as well as a camp inspector.

Charles is survived by his wife, Margaret (Goodall) Bowman of Jackson, Ohio; two sons, Michael (Heidi) Bowman and Kevin Bowman of Jackson, Ohio; two grandchildren, Paul and Sarah Bowman, of Jackson, Ohio; one brother, Robert (Betsy) Bowman of Greensboro, North Carolina; as well as many nieces, nephews, relatives, and close friends.

Preceding him in death in addition to his parents was a brother, Donnie Bowman.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at 2 p.m. at Lewis & Gillum Funeral Home of Jackson, Ohio. Burial will follow at Hamilton Christian Church Cemetery with Rev. David Roach and Janie Karl officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, November 15, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. and again from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, 2013 prior to the service.
