Ira “Joey” Sickles

Ira “Joey” Sickles, age 51 of Jackson, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Adena Regional Medical Center, Chillicothe, Ohio. He was born August 23, 1961 to the late Marvin “Buck” Sickles and Doris Terry Gifford. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Cash; grandparents, John and Grace Terry, Bert and Mayme Sickles; and two nephews, Paul Joseph Nicholas and William Edward Nicholas II.

He is survived by brothers: William “Bill” Fisher, Terry (Phyllis) Cash and Terry Eugene Sickles; sisters: Mary Jane (Bill) Nicholas, Cheryl (Charles) Keller and Kathy (Bill) Henderson; and several nieces, nephews and friends.

Joey attended Calvary United Methodist Church until his health deteriorated. He enjoyed talking with friends and family, telling old stories for hours, loved four-wheeler riding, hunting and movies of the older days. He was a very loving, caring person who never knew a stranger and would help anyone. He will be sadly missed but never forgotten and will be in our hearts forever.

Friends may call at the Mayhew-Brown Funeral Home Wednesday, August 14, from 4 to 8 p.m., where funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 15, at 1 p.m. with Pastor Terry Cavanaugh officiating.
